About Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury or disease by physical therapeutic means instead of by medical, surgical or radiologic measures. It can include manipulation, exercise, ultrasound and patient education to simply show you how you can modify your everyday activities to enable you to live a more energetic and troublesome free life. Some of the most common areas of injury/discomfort treated by a physiotherapist are sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, postural problems, occupational injuries, arthritis, asthma management and rehabilitation following cardiac surgery or stroke. The best way to find a physiotherapist who can help with your needs is to contact a qualified practitioner who is a Chartered Physiotherapist (www.csp.org.uk and www.physiofirst.org.uk) and a Member of the Health & Care Professions Council (www.hpc-uk.org). At Emsworth Physio Clinic we have a number of qualified practitioners, who are both Chartered Physiotherapists (www.csp.org.uk) and Members of the Health & Care Professions Council (www.hpc-uk.org). Will it hurt?

It should not hurt too much. Sometimes you are sore after treatment, but only for a few hours. The next day you should feel better, and that is the important thing.
